Brit Petty has been teaching yoga since 2012, receiving her RYT-200 through with Roman Szpond, Daniel Max and Lauren Starr. She later completed her RYT-500 under the guidance of Theresa Murphy and Dan Boyne. As an E-RYT 500 and a Yoga Alliance Certified Education Provider(YACEP), she enjoys teaching and consulting yoga professionals to express their unique teaching style for the betterment of their instructional skill and to the benefit of their students.
Brit’s teaching style is dynamic and playful, grounding and meditative, and she encourages her students to intuitively test their perceived limitations while guiding awareness to the limitless potential of mindful movement and insight. She has taught at several studios in the Metrowest area, NYC, and is a Yoga and Meditation Specialist for O2X Human Performance, working with first responders, veterans, and active military.
Having been born and raised in Worcester, the city has a special place in her heart. Brit integrates yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices in her work as a private practice therapist (LICSW) and as a school counselor for Worcester Public schools. Brit is a founding board member on The 365Z Commitment to Kindness Foundation board, whose mission it is to perpetuate the infectious spread of kindness one act at a time - a mission she believes aligned seamlessly with yogic philosophy and practice both on and off the mat.
