Lilly Sarmiento Caruso discovered yoga 23 years ago while searching for relief from chronic back pain and as a way to manage stress. She quickly realized that yoga’s healing benefits extended far beyond the physical. As she began to experience profound shifts in both her body and mind, her work life became more manageable, and her pain gradually subsided. Yoga transformed her life in deeply positive ways. In 2004, Lilly completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) and has since trained extensively with a wide range of yoga and meditation teachers, including Rolf Gates, Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, Johnny Gillespie, Josh Summers, David Nichtern, and many other respected local and international instructors. With a strong focus on spinal health, Lilly has completed specialized programs in principles of alignment, biomechanics and yoga for back and hip pain. She has also worked closely with physical therapists to incorporate therapeutic movement principles into both her personal practice and teaching style. In 2019, Lilly completed her 300-hour Advanced (YTT) through Metrowest Yoga. Lilly’s classes unfold organically in response to the needs of her students. With a deep emphasis on alignment, functional movement, breath, core integration, and present-moment awareness, she guides students toward the essential and sweet balance between strength and mobility. Her classes are an invitation to create space for self-discovery, insight and healing. When she’s not on the mat, Lilly cherishes time with her family, friends and silly dog. She loves the outdoors and travel, and appreciates all forms of movement, including hiking, strength training and Latin dance.
